Climate

Manitoba has a moderately dry climate with sharp seasonal temperature changes, temperatures of -40° C are not uncommon in any part of the province, summer days of 38° are not unusual in the southern regions.
 
Annual precipitation varies from 355 millilitres in the north to 560 millilitres in the southeast, with 2/3 of it falling between May and September. Snow typically covers the ground from November to April in the south, longer in the north. There are an average of 107 frost free days per year.
